Shallowbreaths are living, moving clouds of toxic gas that can be different colors depending on their origin. When found in Marshes, they are a pale green color; but when spawned from an evaporated infusion, they take on the color that the infusion was before evaporating. They are capable of passing through blocks and drift seemingly aimlessly near the ground until a player comes close enough to them, when they suddenly chase them (at a speed slightly slower than sprinting speed). They try to stay on top of the player, dealing constant drowning damage as well as inflicting Poison I () for 2 seconds. When damaged they take no knockback.
The sudden speed of Shallowbreaths makes them a surprisingly powerful adversary, as they can be on top of you within seconds of getting remotely near them. If you are not prepared to fight them, you should try to weave your way around them so that they don't target you, and if forced to fight one, just destroy it before it causes too much damage, as it will probably outpace you should you attempt to run. They can't go through liquids, so you could also try to stay in them. To avoid spawning it from an evaporated infusion, make sure that you are stirring the liquid constantly in the Infuser so that it does not evaporate.
